S'Arbaresca
THE JARGON OF THE COPPERSMITHS IN ISILI

This hypothesis was later taken over by the scholar of folklore Francis Alziator. Having lived in Isili during the period of the war, as displaced, and espousing the theory of Pellis, he attends the wedding of a coppersmith with his cousin, and that is enough for him to write in his book on the Sardinian folklore:

"Sometimes you notice even cases of aberrant endogamy as that of the coppersmiths of Isili at the base of which is very likely to be an ancient Egyptian custom."

And later in the same book:

"The products of folk art of the coppersmith of Isili seem to be connected with Gypsy sources, as well as would seem to indicate the origins of their lingo."
