Many mining sites reveal that the copper was mined in Sardinia already during the age called nuragica. Traces were found in Villanovaforru, where at that age there was a workshop, other signs of coppersmith activity were found as slags of coppersmith processing in Tanadi Gesturi Nuraghe, in the big foundry in Ferraxi Nioi in Nuragus territory and in Nieddu, Nurallao. The center of this production was the rich mine of Funtana Raminosa, in Gadoni's territory.
From the same age were found both lingots from Cyprus (stamped with the double ax) and from the area nuragica (stamped with an inverted dagger); which suggests a diffusion of a well developed knowledge about extraction and production for that time, with strong business relationships entertained by the Nuragica Civilization with the mediteranean populations.
