Isili's copper history

In reference at commerce and arts, the Aragonese period was characterised at first by the expulsion of the large Pisan community, and his replacement with a likely nuomerous Jewish Catalan community. They insediated themself in the Castrum of Cagliari taking care of the retail trade and the handicraft. The same happenes in Sassari where the inhabitants were expulsed and the city was striclty influenced by Catalan elements, and a large Jewish community devoted to the art trade.

Between the documents of that period we can find some notice about copper trade; in a customs receipt from Cagliari we get to know about some copper trades between the isalnd and Italy, more specifically Trapani; but also some copper trade in the island, we have documents about that happening between Cagliari and Alghero. Around the XIV we have firt two Coppersmiths unions in the two biggest cities, the same happens next in Iglesias, Alghero and Oristano. The unions in the biggest cities were reserved for the only copper activity, while in minor cities they were groups of various and related activities.
